Interview with the Gooofy Golfers Club Founders
How did you get the idea to start Gooofy Golfers?
Paul: “Golf has always been my greatest passion. Sometimes I’m really fanatical about it. As you may already know, I already have experience with golf tournaments as an organizer. This is also where the idea of Gooofy Golfers was born. There are still so many opportunities in the golf world. Especially with the emergence of new technology, such as blockchain, a completely new world is opening up. Make no mistake, there are as many as 60 million amateur golfers active in the world. This provides the opportunity to create the largest and most popular ecosystem for amateur athletes. Soon there will also be a direct link to the Metaverse.”
We are very curious about your connections in the international golf community. Can you tell us more about that?
Paul: “I am mainly active internationally in business, which has enabled me to build up a lot of contacts since I have also been active in golf, for over 8 years now. Golf helps in the business world, it makes connections that otherwise wouldn’t be there. My rolodex is chock full of golf buddies. Plus, most of them are just as fanatical about golf as I am. There are even some pro golfers among them.”
“So I’m counting on being able to get a lot of these golfers behind this project. Several discussions are already underway and as soon as I have more news about this, I will let you know immediately.”
You’re talking about potential collaborations with top brands. Are there already collaborations in the pipeline that you can tell us about?
Paul: “I can’t name specific names at this stage, but I’m talking about a collaboration with various potential partners. Unfortunately I can’t say much about it at the moment, but I will also come here with news as soon as I can / may report it. Stay tuned!”
There is an airdrop planned for the Gooofy Golfers Community of 199 NFTs worth $50,000. Can you say more about that?
Ali: “Sure. Of the 199 NFTs that we have reserved for airdrops to the Gooofy Golfers community, 99 NFTs will be sent directly to the largest buyers of the presale upon minting. With this we want to emphasize the loyalty of our members. The remaining 100 NFTs will then be distributed among the most active members in our Discord. So be sure to register on this Gooofy Golfers social media channel.”
A little about the Exclusive Gooofy Golfers Eagle Club. What will be your priorities in that regard? The first things you want to do…?
Ali: “The Gooofy Golfers Eagle Club is once again dominated by the loyalty of our NFT holders. It offers you access to a unique webshop, where you can buy exclusive Gooofy Golfers products and other items. Moreover, Eagle Club members also get access to invite-only events such as our Trophy competitions, parties, …”
“By the way, don’t forget, the Eagle Club members, as NFT holders, are automatically members of the DAO, our Decentralized Autonomous Organization. I think that is the greatest added value that membership has to offer.”
Holders of a Gooofy Golfer NFT will soon be entitled to 50% of the royalties you earn from trading Gooofy Golfer NFTs. That will appeal to a lot of investors. What does that look like in practice? Each time a small part or are they periodic payments? In which token will be paid out?
Paul: “The royalties earned will be paid to the NFT holders on a monthly basis, just as OpenSea pays the Organization monthly. The payments are initially made in a stablecoin such as USDT. But it is the intention in the long term to come up with our own token, in our own ecosystem.”
Ali: “In addition to that, I would also like to say that the proceeds from the presale of the Gooofy Golfers NFTs will be used to strengthen the team, such as in the field of research but certainly also in terms of marketing. It is important to piggyback on the latest trends and pursue a lot of growth to increase the community. This in turn will help attract more and major brands into the golf world. It will be a decentralized investment machine in the service of the DAO.”
Can you name some examples of possible ‘partner discounts’ you would like to set up for NFT holders?
Paul: “Starting with our first golf tournament, the Gooofy Golfers Trophy in Damme. In addition to exclusive access, NFT holders will also receive a discount on the green fee(s). We also want to expand this concept to other golf clubs, with the necessary extra discounts in the future. Again, the bigger we get, the more important our impact. In addition, you should also think of a discount with golf equipment and material. We are also already thinking of limited editions and special editions with manufacturers. The sky’s the limit!”
At a complete sale, you will start a DAO that will invest in other innovative metaverse projects. What are your plans/ambitions in that area?
Ali: “Before we run, we want to learn to walk. The first objective of the DAO is to earn money for the community. The members can then vote on the allocation of this income. We also want to focus on our development in the Metaverse. It is important to embrace this industry and grow in the decentralization. This in addition to a nice return on investment, of course.”
The official listing on OpenSea is scheduled for March 31, 2022. What happens if the presale NFTs sell out completely before that time?
Ali: “If we sell out earlier — and things are going very quickly at the moment — then we will start minting the NFTs earlier in that case. After this interaction with the contract, buyers will immediately see their NFTs appear in their wallets. And of course, you can also offer (part of) your NFTs for sale on OpenSea again, according to your own choice and insights.”
Finally, how many NFTs have already been sold in the presale?
Paul: “Like Ali just said, it exceeds expectations. Currently, the 20% mark in the presale has already been exceeded. Especially when you consider that we’ve only had a few weeks to go. This gives the citizen courage. I hope everyone gets a chance to buy their Gooofy Golfers because we want as many people on board as possible.”
